Like a Christmas Dream by Lindsay Harrel (ebook only Oct. 1, 2020)

Lindsay Harrel is taking us back to the small Cornwall town of Port Willis for another lovely holiday romance. Her books are always about so much more than love and romance, though.

She takes us into the world of a woman, Sarah Bentley, who is a high powered lawyer in her father’s law firm. She is set to inherit the business when he steps down but her heart is just not in it. The relationship with her parents seems to be strained but Sarah feels like she is powerless to confront them. She has a side job she wholeheartedly believes in. She spends her free time helping women and children who cannot help themselves She started a foundation called New Dawn with another lawyer friend to find a safe place and give legal counsel and support to women and children who are suffering in abusive relationships. She feels obligated to play nice with her father because he donates a great deal of money to help her maintain this organization. She feels completely stuck with no options.

If you have read any of the other books in the Port Willis series you will recognize Sarah’s sister, Ginny. Ginny is opening a bakery in Port Willis after a divorce and her decision to attend culinary school. Ginny sends invitations to her family to join her for her opening but only Sarah seems interested. She talks her parents into letting her go to support Ginny. Her father reluctantly agrees but with conditions attached. Sarah agrees to abide by the conditions and heads to Port Willis.

You will also recognize other characters from the other stories in the series. I think you could read it alone or out of order as a stand alone novella but I encourage you to check out the other stories in the series. They are all delightful stories.

I enjoyed the story very much and read through it very quickly. It definitely put me in a lovely Cornwall Christmas mood. I loved the romance. I loved the way Sarah changed throughout the story. I loved the Christian aspect in the story as we see several of the characters lean on God through some tough things.

I think it would be a great addition to your Christmas reading this year. The ebook releases October the 1st and it is super affordable at $2.99 for the download.

Lindsay Harrel has one paperback and two ebooks in this series for your enjoyment if you want to check out more. The first ebook is also a Christmas novella and very affordable.

You can find out more about Lindsay’s books through her website. I have read all but the first book she published and I will keep going back for more each time she tells a story. They are such inspiring and beautiful modern day stories.
